Labour force in the Republic of Moldova: employment and unemployment in 2010

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2010 the economically active population (employed population and unemployed persons) of the Republic of Moldova was 1235,4 thousand persons, less with 2,4% compared to the previous year. This decrease is due to the reduction of employed persons with 41 thou. persons. The share of men in the active persons exceeded the share of women (51,0% and, respectively 48,2%).

Employed persons constituted 1143,3 thou. persons, less with 3,5% compared to 2009.

Number of unemployed persons, estimated according to the International Labour Office was 92 thou., with 11 thou. more compared to 2009.
