Children situation in the Republic of Moldova in 2012

National Bureau of Statistics informs that as of January 1, 2013, the resident population of the Republic of Moldova represented 3559,5 thousand inhabitants, 712,1 thousand of which or every fifth person were aged under 18 years.

In 2012, the number of live-births represented 39,4 thousand or with 253 persons more (0,6%) as compared with the previous year. The fertility rate constituted 11,1 live-births per 1000 inhabitants.
