National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2016 the number of small and medium sized enterprises (SME) was 51,6 thousand enterprises, and represents about 98,7% from the total number of enterprises.

                          

The number of employees working in SME constituted 313,5 thou. persons, which is 61,2% of total number of employees. The turnover in SME in 2016 summed up 124954,4 mio.lei, 41,5 of total turnover in economy.
