Freight and passenger transportation in the Republic of Moldova in January-June 2019

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that 51,4 million passengers were transported with public transport in January-June 2019, with 2,4% more than in the similar period of 2018. The passenger's journey constituted 2745,7 million passenger-kilometers, with 4,3% more than January-June 2018.

In the period under review, passenger transport accounted for the highest share (97,2%), followed by rail transport and air transport (1,4%).

Compared to January-June 2018, increases were recorded for river transport of passengers (+5,4%), road (+2,7%). Rail passenger  transport and air passenger transport decreased by (-15,7%) respectively by (-0,8%).
