The National Bureau of Statistics presents information on the situation of children in 2019.

  

As of January 1, 2020, the number of children in the Republic of Moldova accounted for 583.2 thousand, or almost every fifth person was aged up to 18 years old. The share of children aged 0-17 years old in the total number of the population with usual residence, at the beginning of 2020, accounted for 22.2%.
