National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the academic year 2021/22, primary and general secondary education is provided in 99 primary schools, 786 secondary schools, 338 high schools and 8 schools for children with intelectual or physical disabilities. Out of the total of 1231 general primary and secondary education institutions, 98,1% belong to the public sector and 74,3% operate in rural areas.
