Youth NEET in the Republic of Moldova for the first quarter of 2022

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, according to the results of the Labor Force Survey (AFM), in the first quarter of 2022, the number of young people forming the NEET group aged between 15-24 was of 52,0 thousand, aged 15-29 - 116, 4 thousand and young people aged 15-34 years - 193,8 thousand people. For all these three age groups, the majority are women (58,2% among 15-24 year old, 62,6% among 15-29 year old and 67,4% among 15-34 year old).

From the total number of young NEET people aged between 15 and 34, people aged 30-34 prevail with a share of 39,9%, followed by young people aged 25-29 - 33,2%. The share of young people aged between 20-24 years is 21,5% and those of 15-19 years - 5,4%. Among women, the majority are also formed by the age groups 30-34 years (44,2%) and 25-29 years (32,5%). Among men, most NEETs belong to the 25-29 age group (34,7%), followed by the 30-34 age group (31,2%).
