Passengers and freight transportation in January-June 2022
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-June 2022, 109,7 million passengers were transported by public transport, an increase of 17,6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. This evolution was mainly determined by the increase in the number of passengers transported by air (+41,9%), by trolleybuses (+19,5%) and by road transport (+13,4%). At the same time, there was a decrease in the number of passengers transported by river transport (-13,9%) and rail (-8,1%).
Passenger travel in the reporting period was up 27,6% compared to January-June 2021 and amounted to 2011,5 million passenger-km, of which 1132,4 million passenger-km (56,3% of the total) were registered in bus and minibus transport, 634,2 million passenger-km (31,5%) – in air transport and 230,8 million passenger-km (11,5%) – in trolleybus transport.
