Doctoral and postdoctoral activity in 2013

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2013 doctoral studies were conducted in 49 institutions, including 31 research institutes and 18 higher education institutions. Number of doctorates was 1522 persons (excluding foreign), increasing by 2,5% compared to 2012. Compared with 2005, there have been recorded fluctuations in the number of doctoral students to part-time studies increasing by 7,9% and the daily base study number of doctoral students has decreased by 35,9%. Simultaneou, the share of part-time doctoral students increased by 11,3 percentage points compared to 2005 and represents 73,3%.
