Youth in the Republic of Moldova in 2013

National Bureau of Statistics presents information on the situation of youth in the Republic of Moldova.

On the 1st of January 2014, young people (aged 15-29) accounted 25% of the resident population. The young generation ratio is decreasing steadily during the last years, particularly the 15-19 age category, the share of which in the total number of young people has decreased from 31,8% on 01.01.2009 up to 26,0% on 1 January 2014. The number of people aged between 20 and 24 years also has decreased with 48,5 thousand persons or 2,3 percentage points. Only number of young people aged between 25 and 29 years registered an increase of 8,2 percentage points.
