Demographic situation in 2008

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2008 an increase of the new-borns has been registered, the live-birth rate being 10,9 new-borns per 1000 inhabitants, compared to 10,6‰ in 2007. The mortality compared to previous year has decreased with 2,6%, the mortality rate being 11,8 deaths per 1000 inhabitants. The natural decrease constituted 57,7% compared to 2007.
