City infrastructure and sanitation activities in urban localities in 2010

National Bureau of Statistics presents, total area of lands and water reservoirs situated in the frame of the official perimeter of urban localities represent 791 thousand hectares, of which, the inside area – 43,2 thousand hectares or 54,6% of the total area. During the last years the total area of lands of urban localities increased with 16,5 thousand hectares, and accordingly, the inside area - with 6,0 thousand hectares.

Green areas represent 7,3 thousand hectares or 9,3% of the total area of urban localities, 57% of these areas are for general use (squares, gardens, parks, etc.), the remaining are the spaces of touristic and entertainment zones (18%), the areas with utility purposes (8%), and limited acces areas – 4%.
