From May 18th to May 20th, STATREG project organised a Workshop on concepts and data requirements for regional accounts in the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova. This training addressed the concepts and methods promoted by Eurostat to compile regional Gross Value Added (GVA) and regional Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In addition, exercises based on NBS business survey micro-data were proposed to participants in order to deepen the knowledge of the distribution of local units within the Moldovan territory and between industries, and to carry out practical calculations of GVA using micro-data (so called “pseudo bottom-up” methods).

Statisticians and economists from NBS, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, National Bank of Moldova, Academy of Public Administration, National Institute of Economic Research and Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova participated to this workshop.”
