Children situation in the Republic of Moldova in 2015

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, the number of stable population of the Republic of Moldova on 1 January, 2016 accounted 3553,1 thousands persons from which 685,5 thousands persons or each the fifth person is aged up to 18 years old.

The birth rate was estimated at 10,9 live-births per 1000 inhabitants. The birth rate level in the rural localities (12,3‰) is higher in comparison with the urban area (9,0‰). The current population statistics records the figure of 51,7% of males from the total amount of born alive children, male gender ratio being 107 males to 100 females.
