Freight and passenger transportation in the Republic of Moldova in January-October 2019

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that 85,5 million passengers were transported with public transport in January-October 2019, with 1,0% more than in the similar period of 2018. The passenger's journey constituted 5143,5 million passenger-kilometers, with 2,3% more than January-October 2018.

In the period under review, passenger transport accounted for the highest share (97,0%), followed by air transport (1,6%) and rail transport (1,2%).

Compared to January-October 2018, increases were recorded for road transport of passengers (+1,5%) and river transport (+0,9%). At the same time, there is a decrease, compared to the respective period of 2018, rail passengers (-28,5%) and air transport (-1,3%).
