26.12.2019 Activity of the primary and general secondary education institutions, beginning of the academic year 2019/20
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the academic year 2019/20, primary and general secondary education is provided in 1226 units, including 103 primary schools, 762 secondary schools, 348 high schools and 13 schools for children with intelectual or physical disabilities. In addition, in the country there are 29 branches of gyms and high schools.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, the higher education institutions network have a total of 27 units including 18 state and 9 non-state institutions. Most of them, mainly 23 units are located in Chişinău municipality and 1 unit each in Balţi, Cahul, Comrat and Taraclia.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in October 2019, the industrial production increased by 8,5% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, as a result of increase of the manufacturing industry. In the same time the quarrying industry and production of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning supply register an decrease.

In 2018, the number of reporting enterprises amounted to 48,8 thou. enterprises, of which 35,5 thou. are active enterprises that represent 72,7% of the total number of reporting enterprises. During the 2018 year, 4,9 thou. enterprises were created and 7,8 thou. enterprises were liquidated.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, the number of innovative enterprises in the period of 2017-2018 constituted 605 enterprises, representing 18% of the total number of enterprises included in the survey. Of the total number of innovative enterprises, 40% made several types of innovations, 20% made product and/or process innovation, 40% - organizational and/or marketing methods innovation.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-October 2019 exports summed up 2,3 billion USD, more than in the corresponding period of 2018 with 3,4% and imports summed up 4,8 billion USD, more than in the corresponding period of 2018 with 1,7%.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that 85,5 million passengers were transported with public transport in January-October 2019, with 1,0% more than in the similar period of 2018. The passenger's journey constituted 5143,5 million passenger-kilometers, with 2,3% more than January-October 2018.
16.12.2019 Activity of technical vocational institutions in academic year 2019/20
At the beginning of the academic year 2019/20, the number of vocational technical education institutions was 91 units, including 13 centers of excellence, 36 colleges and 42 vocational schools. 43,6 thou. pupils study in technical vocational institutions, of which 12,4 thou. - in centers of excellence and 17,7 thou. pupils each in vocational schools and 13,5 thou. - in colleges. The educational and training activity of technical vocational education is ensured by 3,9 pedagogical staff.
16.12.2019 Gross domestic product in the third quarter and in January-September 2019
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the third quarter of 2019 the gross domestic product on gross series totaled 64323 mil.lei current market prices, increasing - in real terms - by 4,3% compared to quarter III of 2018. On the series seasonally adjusted, Gross domestic product increased by 5,1% compared to the third quarter of 2018 and with 1,1% - compared to the second quarter of 2019.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in November 2019 the annual inflation registered 7,1%, including: food products – 11,8%, nonfood products – 4,6% and services – 3,5%. The consumer price index in November 2019 compared to October 2019 registered 100,8%.

The estimated number of people with disabilities in the Republic of Moldova is 176,1 thousand people, including 10,6 thousand children aged 0-17 years. Persons with disabilities represent 6,6% of total population of the country, and children with disabilities constitute approximately 1,8% of all children from Moldova.
