According to information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2020, 26,3 thousand crimes were recorded on the territory of the country, registering a decrease of 17,0% compared to the previous year and 37,2% compared to 2016. The crime rate is 100 offenses per 10 thousand residents compared to 120 offenses in 2019 and 151 in 2016.

National Bureau of Statistics presents data on remuneration of employees in the Republic of Moldova. In January-December 2008, according to preliminary data, the average salary of one employee in national economy constituted 2529 MDL and it increased compared to the same period of the previous year with 23%. The real salary in the same period of time increased with about 9%. In the budgetary sector the average salary was 1959 MDL and it increased against the same period of previous year with 21 %, in the real economy sector - 2825 MDL and it increased with 23 per cent compared to the same period of previous year.
