National Bureau of Statistics informs that, at the beginning of the year 2019, in the Republic of Moldova were 558,4 thousand persons aged 60 years and over, representing 20,8% of the total usual resident population of the country. About 60% of the total number of elderly people are women. Every third person is aged between 60-64 years and 11,3% are people who are more than 80 years old.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that 59,7 million passengers were transported with public transport in January-July 2019, with 2,0% more than in the similar period of 2018. The passenger's journey constituted 3387,0 million passenger-kilometers, with 3,3% more than January-July 2018.

16.09.2019 Gross Domestic Product in the Republic of Moldova in the second quarter and first semester of 2019
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the second quarter of 2019 the gross domestic product on gross series totaled 49704 mil.lei current market prices, increasing - in real terms - by 5,8% compared to the second quarter of 2018. On the series seasonally adjusted, Gross domestic product increased by 5,2% compared to the second quarter of 2018 and with 2,0% - compared to the first quarter of 2019.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in August 2019 the annual inflation registered 5,5%, including: food products – 8,3%, nonfood products – 4,8% and services – 2,2%. The consumer price index in August 2019 compared to July 2019 registered 99,97%.
