National Bureau of Statistics informs, that industrial production in January-April 2011 compared to January-April 2010 registered an increase of 9,2%. In April 2011 compared to April 2010 the volume index of industrial registered 111,4%.

National Bureau of Statistics communicates, that in 2010 enterprises and organizations of all forms of ownerships carried out investments in fixed capital to the amount of 13098,7 mio. lei (current prices) from all financing sources. National Bureau of Statistics informs, that in 2010 the number of small and medium sized enterprises was 45,6 thousand enterprises, or with 1,9 thousand enterprises (4,3%) more than in 2009. National Bureau of Statistics informs, that in quarter I 2011, monthly disposable incomes of population summed up in average per person 1352,2 lei, which is with 10,6% more than in the similar period of 2010.Monthly population expenditures in quarter I 2011 in average per person constituted 1421,1 lei, which is with 7,2% more than in the corresponding period of 2010.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in March 2011 the average gross nominal earnings constituted 2985,1 Lei and it increased with 8,1% compared to March 2010 and with 3,5% compared to previous month (February 2011).

National Bureau of Statistics informs, that in May 2011 the prices in total for industry have increased in comparison with April 2011 with 1,1%. In comparison with December 2010 the industrial production price index has increased with 5,1%, and with 6,9% in comparison with May 2010.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in May 2011 compared to April 2011 the consumer price index (CPI) registered 100,6%, and 107,0% compared to May 2010. From the beginning of the year (May 2011 compared to December 2010) consumer prices increased with 4,9%.

US dollars, which is with 3,9% less than in the previous month and with 77,7% more than in April 2010.Imports of goods in April 2011 registered a value of 421,1 mio. US dollars, which is with 7,9% less than in the previous month and with 43,8% more than in April 2010.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that the research and development (R&D) activity in 2010 was conducted in 62 units, of which 38 institutes and/or research centres, 12 higher education institutions and 12 - other types of units. From the total number of units, 51 units (82,3%) are in state ownership.
