National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in March 2021, turnover in retail trade registered an increased of 11,2% compared to previous month and with 14,1% compared to March 2020. In January-March 2021, turnover in retail trade increased with 6,6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that as of January 1, 2013, the resident population of the Republic of Moldova represented 3559,5 thousand inhabitants, 712,1 thousand of which or every fifth person were aged under 18 years. In 2012, the number of live-births represented 39,4 thousand or with 253 persons more (0,6%) as compared with the previous year. The fertility rate constituted 11,1 live-births per 1000 inhabitants.

National Bureau of Statistics communicates, that in January-March 2013 enterprises and organizations all types of economic activities carried out investments to the amount of 1907,1 mio. lei (current prices). In January-March 2013, the investments in construction-assembly works amounted to 784,4 mio.lei, what represents an increase with 9,4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-March 2013, 509 appartments with the total area of 69,3 thou. m² were completed. This indicator is in increase with 17,1% as compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

National Bureau of Statistics is announcing that, in 2012 on the territory of the country there were placed 742 water supply systems, of which 571 units - public ownership, 168 - private, 3 - mixed ownership. From the total of aqueducts during 2012 year there had acted 677 systems (91,2%) or with 34 aqueducts more than in previous year and with 163 compared with 2008.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-March 2013 tourism agencies and tour-operators have provided tourism services to 20,6 thousand tourists and excursionists, that is with 2,6% less than in the corresponding period of 2012.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in April 2013 enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport, have transported 894,6 thou. tonnes of goods with 2,7% more than in the previous month and with 28,2% - compared to April 2012. The turnover of goods in April 2013 summed up 337,9 mio. tonne-km, with 4,3% less than in the previous month and with 12,3% more compared to April 2012.

National Bureau of Statistics informs, that in March 2013, turnover in enterprises with main type of activity retail trade increased with 12,1% (in comparable prices) compared to previous month, and a decrease of 3,7% compared to March 2012.

National Bureau of Statistics informs, that the indices of industrial production in January-March 2013 compared to January-March 2012 constituted 101,5%. In March 2013 compared to March 2012 the indices of industrial production registered 104,5%.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-March 2013 36,5 thou. tourists attended the establishments of collective touristic accommodation, of which 19,4 thou. Moldovan tourists (53,0%) and 17,2 thou. foreign tourists (47,0%). In comparison with January-March 2012 the number of tourists has increased (+2,1%), mainly due to the increase of the number of tourists and recreation camps, and other recreation structures (+29,0%), hostels (+10,4%), tourist and agrotourist pensions (+9,8%), hotels and motels (+6,4%).

National Bureau of Statistics informs, that exports of goods in March 2013 registered a value of 221,5 mio. US dollars, with 11,4% more than in the previous month and with 11,1% - compared to March 2012. Imports of goods in March 2013 registered a value of 488,2 mio. US dollars, with 20,1% more than in the previous month and with 2,5% - compared to March 2012.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2012 by leasing companies were leased out fixed assets with total value of 816 mio. Lei or with 21 mio. Lei (with 2,5%) less than in 2011 and with 280 mio. Lei (with 58%) more than in 2010.
07.05.2013 City infrastructure and sanitation activities in urban localities in 2012
National Bureau of Statistics reports that of the total area of urban land, 7,4 thou. hectares or 9,4% are occupied by green spaces, the same level as in the previous year. 56,4% of the surface of these areas are for general use (squares, gardens, parks, etc.), the remaining being the spaces of touristic and entertainment zones (17,3%), limited access areas – 13% and areas with utility purposes (8,1%).

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2012 number of deceased was 39560 persons, with 311 persons (0,8%) more compared to the previous year. The general mortality rate constituted 11,1 deceased per 1000 inhabitants.

The population of the Republic of Moldova aged 10 years and above use almost half of their daily time (47%) for personal care activities (11 hours 18 minutes); 36.5% of one day duration (8 hours 45 minutes) is dedicated to work, study, household and family care, voluntary work, and travels, and 16.5% - is spent for leisure (3 hours 57 minutes).
