The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2021, the research and development activity was conducted in 67 units, including 38 institutes and research centers, 19 higher education institutions and 10 - other types of units. From the total number of units with research and development activity, 51 units (or 76,1%) have the form of state ownership.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-March 2015 were issued 815 construction permits for residential and nonresidential buildings, decreasing with 15,5% compared to January-March 2014.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2014 were recorded 630,6 thousand violations, with 272,4 thousand more than in the previous year. This is due to duplication of cases of road traffic violations from 213,7 thousand cases in 2013 up to 437,5 thousand cases in 2014.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2014 doctoral studies were organized in 50 institutions, including 31 scientific research institutions and 19 higher education institutions. The total number of doctoral students accounted 1628 persons (excluding foreign ones), increased by 7,0% compared to 2013 and decreased by 2,3% compared with 2005.
27.04.2015 Global agricultural production in the 1st quarter 2015
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, volume index of global agricultural production, in all types of households (agricultural enterprises, farms and population households) in January-March 2015 registered 104,4% compared to January-March 2014. The growth of global agricultural production was caused by an increase of animal production - with 4,4%, with a 99% share of total agricultural production.

From the total number of units, 51 units or 77% are in state ownership compared to 83% in 2013.

National Bureau of Statistics informs, that the number of live-births in 2014 was 38616 persons, which is 745 (2,0%) more than in 2013. The birth rate constituted 10,9 live-births per 1000 inhabitants, in rural areas being higher (12,0‰) than in urban areas (9,3‰).
22.04.2015 Freight and passenger transportation in the Republic of Moldova in January-March 2015
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in March 2015 enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport, have transported 918,0 thou. tonnes of goods, with 9,8% more than in the previous month and with 3,9% less compared to March 2014. The turnover of goods in March 2015 summed up 345,2 mio. tonne-km, with 27,7% more than in the previous month and with 3,4% less compared to March 2014.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in February 2015 the average nominal gross earnings constituted 4241,2 lei, and it increased with 14,1% compared to February 2014.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, the indices of industrial production in January-February 2015 compared to January-February 2014 constituted 106,5%. In February 2015 compared to February 2014 the indices of industrial production registered 106,8%.
10.04.2015 External trade activity of the Republic of Moldova in January-February 2015
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-February 2015 exports of goods amounted 313,3 mln. USD, while imports of goods amounted 573,6 mln. USD. Compared to the same period of the 2014, exports decreased by 12,7% and imports by 22,0%. The trade balance deficit in January-February 2015 has been of 260,3 mln. USD, lower by 116,0 mln. USD (-30,8%) than that recorded in the corresponding period of 2014.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2014 the economically active population (employed population plus unemployed persons) of the Republic of Moldova was 1232,4 thousand persons, decreased with 0,3% (3,5 thousand) compared to the previous year.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, exports of goods in February 2015 registered a value of 165,5 mio. US dollars, with 11,9% more than in the previous month and with 12,1% less compared to February 2014. Imports of goods in February 2015 registered a value of 304,3 mio. US dollars, with 13,0% more than in the previous month and with 26,8% less compared to February 2014.
