National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in March 2019, turnover in retail trade registered an increase of 21,8% compared to previous month and by 24,5% compared to March 2018. In January-March 2019, turnover in retail trade increased with 17,3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
29.05.2019 The situation of children in the Republic of Moldova in 2018
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, the number of children of the Republic of Moldova as of January 1, 2019 was 669,6 thousand children, thus each fifth person was aged up to 18 years old. The birth rate was estimated at 9,2 live-births per 1000 inhabitants. The birth rate in the rural localities is higher in comparison with the urban area.

National Bureau of Statistics communicates that in January-March 2019 value of investments in fixed assets amounted to 3257,5 mio. lei, increasing by 25,1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
27.05.2019 Activity of water supply and sewerage systems in 2018
National Bureau of Statistics reports that in 2018 compared to the previous year the number of water supply systems has increased by 6 units, thus on the territory of the country there are 1220 water supply systems. Out of the total aqueducts, 1168 systems or 95,7 percent were operating during the year, at the same time, 11 aqueducts were rebuilt, of which 10 in rural localities.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-March 2019 were put into operation 1212 dwellings with total area of 104,4 m², or with 14,5% more than in January-March 2018.
21.05.2019 The activity of insurers in January-March 2019
National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-March 2019 the gross written premiums amounted to 343,4 million lei, increasing by 3,4% compared to the gross premiums written in January-March 2018. Compensation and insurance indemnities paid amounted to 206,8 million lei, increasing by 71,1% compared to the payments made in January-March 2018.
20.05.2019 The touristic activity of tourism agencies and tour-operators in January-March 2019
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-March 2019 tourism agencies and tour-operators provided tourism services to 38,3 thousand tourists and excursionists, with 7,3% more than in the corresponding period of 2018. The growth of the number of tourists and excursionists was caused by increase of internal tourism, inbound tourism. In the same time, the number of tourists decreased of outbound tourism.
20.05.2019 Industrial activity of the Republic of Moldova in January-March 2019
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in March 2019, the industrial production increased by 0,9% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, as a result of increase of the quarrying industry and manufacturing industry. In the same time the production of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning supply register an decrease with 17,3%.
17.05.2019 Attendance of establishments of collective touristic accommodation in January-March 2019
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-March 2019, 55,3 thou. tourists attended the establishments of collective touristic accommodation, of which 31,0 thou. foreign tourists and 24,3 thou. Moldovan tourists. In comparison to January-March 2018, the number of tourists accommodated in the collective tourist reception facilities increased, due to its growth in holiday camps for pupils, rest structures, tourist and agrotouristic pensions, hotels and motels. At the same time, the number of tourists accommodated in hostels for visitors was reduced.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2018 by leasing companies were leased out fixed assets with total value of 1583,4 mio. Lei or with 156,8 mio. Lei more than in 2017. The major part of fixed assets leased out were the transport means with a value of 1516,7 mio. Lei, of which automobiles constituted 1310,3 mio. Lei.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-March 2019 exports summed up 733,0 mio. USD, more than in the corresponding period of 2018 with 8,1% and imports summed up 1365,2 mio. USD, more than in the corresponding period of 2018 with 2,9%.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that 25,3 million passengers were transported with public transport in January-March 2019, with 3,1% more than in the similar period of 2018. The passenger's journey constituted 1195,4 million passenger-kilometers, with 4,4% more than January-March 2018.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2018 number of deceased was 37200 persons, with 432 persons more compared to the previous year.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in April 2019 the annual inflation registered 3,2%, including: food products – 4,5%, nonfood products – 3,7% and services – 0,5%. Also the consumer price index in April 2019 compared to March 2019 registered 100,8%.

The activity of the improvement, adjustment and maintenance of green space in urban areas during 2018 was conducted on a total of 7,9 thousands ha or 8,7% of the total land area. During the years 2016-2018 the area of the green spaces is kept constant.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-March 2019, 573 building permits for residential and non-residential buildings were issued, less with 12,9% compared to January-March 2018.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2018 were recorded 426,3 thousand contraventions, with 24,1 thou. less than in the previous year. For the most of the cases, sanctions were applied (96,7%).
02.05.2019 Doctoral and postdoctoral activity in 2018
National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2018, PhD studies (cycle III) took place in 46 doctoral schools, organized in 19 higher education institutions. In 2018, the total number of PhD students was 1569 persons of which 98% (1540 persons) attended doctoral degree programs (cycle III).
