18.09.2020 Industrial activity of the Republic of Moldova in January-July 2020
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in July 2020, the industrial production (gross series) decreased by 2,4% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, as a result of decrease of the manufacturing industry (-3,7%). In the same time the quarrying industry (+15,7%) and production of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning supply (+5,9%) registered an increase.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that 30,5 million passengers were transported with public transport in January-July 2020, with 48,8% less than in the similar period of 2019. The passengers turnover constituted 1,4 million passenger-kilometers, with 59,8% less than January-July 2019.
15.09.2020 Gross Domestic Product in the Republic of Moldova in the second quarter and first semester of 2020
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), estimated for the 2nd quarter of 2020, in nominal value amounted to 44629 million lei current market prices. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2019, GDP decreased by 14,0% on the gross series and by 11,5% on the seasonally adjusted series. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2020, GDP decreased by 7,0% on the seasonally adjusted series.

According to the results of the Labour Force Survey, in the second quarter of 2020, the labour force of the Republic of Moldova, which includes the employed and unemployed population, was 857,7 thousand persons, decreasing by 9,0% in comparison to the second quarter of 2019.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the second quarter of 2020 the average gross monthly nominal earnings constituted 7849,0 Lei, increasing by 7,5% compared to the second quarter of 2019 and by 2,8% compared to the first quarter of 2020.
