29.09.2021 Elderly population in the Republic of Moldova in 2020
A number of 584,0 thousand of people aged 60 and over were living in the Republic of Moldova at the beginning of 2021, which represents 22,5% of the total number of the population with usual residence. About 349,5 thousand of the total number of older people were women, every third person was between 60 and 64 years old, and 61,2 thousand were people over the age of 80.
20.09.2021 Industrial activity in January-July 2021
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in July 2021, industrial production increased by 16,2% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, against the background of the decrease of production in July 2020 compared to the corresponding month of 2019 by 3,2%. The increase in production in July 2021 compared to July 2020 is due to the increases in the manufacturing industry and in the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning, generating the increase of production on total industry by 16,1% and 0,3% respectively.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-July 2021 exports summed up 1572,5 millions USD, more than in the corresponding period of 2020 with 15,5%, and imports summed up 3828,3 millions USD, more than in the corresponding period of 2020 with 32,5%.
15.09.2021 Gross Domestic Product in the second quarter and the first semester of 2021
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that the Gross Domestic Product, estimated for the 2nd quarter of 2021, amounted to 57,7 billion lei, current (market) prices. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2020, GDP has increased, in real terms, with 21,5% per gross series and with 19,1% per seasonally adjusted series.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in August 2021 compared to August 2020 the average consumer prices increased by 4,64%, including food products by 4,83%, nonfood products by 6,93% and services by 1,02%.
01.09.2021 Average earnings in the second quarter of 2021
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that the average gross monthly nominal earnings at the units in the real sector with 4 and more employees as well all budgetary institutions amounted to 9044,5 lei in the second quarter of 2021, increasing by 15,2% compared to the second quarter of 2020 and with 6,84% compared to the first quarter 2021.
