28.02.2019 Crime situation in the Republic of Moldova in year 2018
According to information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2018, 32,0 thousand crimes were recorded on the territory of the country, registering a decrease of 10,0% compared to the previous year, and compared to 2014 the level of criminality decreased by 23,4%. The crime rate is 90 offenses per 10 thousand residents compared to 117 offenses in 2014.

National Bureau of Statistics communicates that in January-December 2018 value of investments in fixed assets amounted to 24215,8 mio. lei, increasing by 12,3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the IV-th quarter 2018 the average gross nominal earnings constituted 6987,5 Lei, an increase of 14,3% compared to the IV-th quarter 2017. The index of the real salary in the IV-th quarter 2018 compared to the IV-th quarter 2017 was 113,2%, more with 13,2% compared to previous year.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-December 2018 were put into operation 6008 dwellings with total area of 471,6 m², or with 17,5% less than in January-December 2017.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in December 2018, turnover in retail trade registered an increased of 10,3% compared to previous month and 7,5% compared to December 2017. In 2018, turnover in retail trade increased with 7,6% compared to the previous year.
20.02.2019 The touristic activity of tourism agencies and tour-operators in 2018
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2018 tourism agencies and tour-operators provided tourism services to 323,5 thousand tourists and excursionists, with 13,5% more than in the 2017. The growth of the number of tourists and excursionists was caused by increase of outbound tourism, inbound tourism and internal tourism.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in December 2018, the industrial production increased by 0,4% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, as a result of increase of the quarrying industry and production of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning supply. In the same time the manufacturing industry registered an decrease.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2018, 364,6 thou. tourists attended the establishments of collective touristic accommodation, of which 160,2 thou. foreign tourists and 204,4 thou. Moldovan tourists. In comparison to 2017, the number of tourists accommodated in the collective tourist reception facilities increased, due to its growth in rest structures, hotels and motels, retirement structures and holiday camps for pupils. At the same time, the number of tourists accommodated in hostels for visitors and tourist and agrotouristic pensions.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2018 the number of crossings of the state border by foreign citizens, at the entrance in Republic of Moldova, totaled 4,3 million persons, increasing by 11,7% compared to the 2017. In 2018 the number of crossings of the state border by Moldovan citizens, leaving the country amounted to 5,9 million, with 2,8% more than in the 2017.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2018 exports summed up 2,7 bilion USD, more than in the 2017 with 11,6% and imports summed up 5,8 bilion USD, more than in the 2017 with 19,3%.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2018 enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport, have transported 19,4 mio. tonnes of goods, with 10,0% more than in the previous year. The turnover of goods summed up 4857,3 mio. tonne-km, with 3,2% more than in the 2017.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, volume index of global agricultural production, in all types of households in 2018, according to preliminary estimations, registered 102,5% compared to 2017. The growth of global agricultural production was determined by the increase of vegetal production with 3,8% and a decrease of livestock production - with 1,1%.
