National Bureau of Statistics informs that, the research and development activity in 2013 was conducted in 64 units, of which 40 institutes and/or research centres, 15 higher education institutions and 9 other types of units. From the total number of units, 53 units or 82,8% are in state ownership compared to 79,7% in 2012.

National Bureau of Statistics communicates that, global agricultural production, in all types of households (agricultural enterprises, farms and population households) in January-March 2014, according to estimations, registered 107,4% compared to January-March 2014.

National Bureau of Statistics informs, that the number of live-births in 2013 was 37871 persons, which is 1564 (4,0%) less than in 2012. The birth rate constituted 10,6 live-births per 1000 inhabitants, in rural areas being higher (11,6‰) than in urban areas (9,3‰).

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, exports of goods in February 2014 registered a value of 186,3 mio. US dollars, with 11,4% more than in the previous month and with 6,3% less compared to February 2013. Imports of goods in February 2014 registered a value of 415,7 mio. US dollars, with 30,1% more than in the previous month and with 2,2% - compared to February 2013.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January 2014 the average gross nominal earnings constituted 3777,4 Lei and it increased with 10,2% compared to January 2013. The index of the real salary in January 2014 compared to January 2013 was 104,9%.
