National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the quarter II 2016 the economically active population (employed population and unemployed persons) of the Republic of Moldova was 1 362,9 thousand persons, more with 1,8% (23,7 thou.) compared to the quarter II 2015. The structure of the active population has not changed significantly: 96,0% are employed persons and 4,0% - unemployed.

National Bureau of Statistics communicates that, in January-June 2016 value of investments in long-term tangible assets amounted to 5 449,2 mio. lei (in current prices). Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, this indicator decreased with 21,0% (in comparable prices).

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in July 2016 enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport, have transported 1 177,4 thou. tonnes of goods, with 8,1% more than in the previous month and with 10,9% lees compared to July 2015. The turnover of goods in July 2016 summed up 318,1 mio. tonne-km, with 0,3% more than in the previous month and with 7,3% less compared to July 2015.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-June 2016 were put into operation 2 583 dwellings (apartments and individual residential houses) with total area of 243,9 m², or 3,7% more than in January-June 2015.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in June 2016, turnover in retail trade (excluding trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) registered a decrease of 2,3% (in comparable prices) compared to previous month and an increase of 4,2% compared to June 2015.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in June 2016 the average gross nominal earnings constituted 5169,7 Lei, an increase of 9,2% compared to June 2015. The index of the real salary in June 2016 compared to June 2015 was 101,7%, more with 1,7% compared to previous year.
15.08.2016 Attendance of establishments of collective touristic accommodation in January-June 2016
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-June 2016, 125,0 thou. tourists attended the establishments of collective touristic accommodation, of which 70,3 thou. Moldovan tourists and 54,6 thou. foreign tourists. In comparison with January-June 2015 the number of tourists has increased, mainly due to the increase with 3,1 times of the number of tourists in touristic and agrotouristic pensions and with 24,2% in hotels and motels.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-June 2016 exports of goods amounted 905,4 mio. USD and imports of goods - 1 869,0 mio. USD. Compared to the same period of the 2015, exports decreased with 8,8% and imports with 5,9%.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, the indices of industrial production in January-June 2016 compared to January-June 2015 remained at the same level. In June 2016 compared to June 2015 the indices of industrial production registered 97,9%.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in July 2016 the annual inflation (for the last 12 months from July 2015 to July 2016) registered 7,0%, including: food products – 7,9%, nonfood products – 5,9% and services – 7,4%. Also the consumer price index (CPI) in July 2016 compared to June 2016 registered 99,1% (in July 2015 compared to June 2015, CPI registered 99,5% and compared to July 2014 - 108,6%).

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, exports of goods in June 2016 registered a value of 157,4 mio. US dollars, with 2,9% more than in the previous month and with 12,9% less compared to June 2015. Imports of goods in June 2016 registered a value of 324,7 mio. US dollars, with 1,0% less than in the previous month and with 7,7% - compared to June 2015.
