National Bureau of Statistics informs, that in May 2012 enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport, have transported 864,9 thou. tonnes of goods with 28,8% more than in the previous month and with 26,3% more than in May 2011. The turnover of goods in May 2012 summed up 326,0 mio tonne-km, with 11,1% more than in the previous month and with 20,8% - than in May 2011.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2011 by leasing companies were leased out fixed assets with total value of 837 mio. Lei or with 301 mio. Lei (with 56%) more than in 2010 and with 409 mio. Lei (with 33%) less than in 2008. The predominating part of fixed assets leased out are the transport means with a value of 661,5 mio. Lei (or 79% of total), of which cars have 95% (with a value of 629,2 mio.Lei).

National Bureau of Statistics reports that of the total area of urban land, 7.4 thou. hectares or 9.4% are occupied by green spaces, the same level as in the previous year. 56% of the surface of these areas are for general use (squares, gardens, parks, etc.), the remaining being the spaces of touristic and entertainment zones (18%), limited access areas – 13% and areas with utility purposes (8%).

National Bureau of Statistics informs that according to prelimionary data the number of live-births in 2011 was 39176 with 1298 (3,2%) less than in 2010. The birth rate being 11,0 live-births per 1000 inhabitants. The birth rate in rural area is higher than in urban areas, being correspondingly 11,8‰ and 9,8‰.

National Bureau of Statistics communicates that agricultural production, in all types of households, in January-March 2012 increased with 0,6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The increase of global agricultural production was determined by the increase of animal production - with 0,6%, with a share in total agricultural production of about 99%.
